Steaming a Lobster:





Step 1: Fill pot with water.
Add about 2 inches of seawater or salted fresh water to the bottom of a large kettle. Bring the water to a roiling boil.
 
Step 2: Add the lobsters.
Grasp the lobsters by the body, just behind the claws and add them directly to the boiling water. Check the timing chart to see how long to cook your lobsters.
 
Step 3: Prepare for the meal.
While the lobsters are cooking, take the opportunity to prepare for eating. Get plenty of napkins, and set the table.

If you have lobster eating utensils, like the claw crackers or picks, break 'em out. If you'll be dipping in butter, now is a good time to melt the butter as you'll want it nice and hot to dip the lobster in.

Step 4: Prepare the lobsters.
